Policy committee advances threat-assessment policy and commends district threat-assessment team

The policy committee reviewed a largely unchanged draft of the district's threat-assessment policy (policy 2-36.1) and agreed to move it to first reading. Committee members praised staff for implementing the CSTAG (Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guidelines) tool and credited a threat-assessment team of counselors, teachers and administrators for the work.

A committee member asked staff to relay collective appreciation to Ryan Gerber for his role in the effort; the chair asked staff to pass along the thanks. Committee members indicated they were comfortable moving the policy to first reading.

The committee adjourned following that item.
