Council picks town website vendor and proposes $200 event fee for park rentals

Krista Hartman, a council member, moved to approve Online Solutions (Townweb) as the city's website vendor; the motion carried unanimously. Council members said they preferred a simpler, staff-editable site and asked staff to ensure any online payment links are implemented as the city's own link rather than a paid third‑party add‑on.

Separately, the council discussed a for‑profit promoter's proposal to rent the whole playground park for a monthly farmer's-market style event. Members expressed concerns about parking, restroom capacity and neighborhood impacts and agreed to limit such events to Flack Park (where parking and shade are more suitable). The council proposed a $200 event fee with a $50 refundable cleaning deposit to cover city impacts and directed staff to place a fee-resolution on a future agenda for formal adoption.

Council members emphasized insurance and food‑safety requirements for event operators and said promoters must provide a certificate of insurance listing the city. The council agreed the fee schedule could be adjusted later if experience shows different impacts.
