Lower Moreland students, teachers recount study‑abroad trip to Spain; 32 students participated

Spanish teachers and students described a spring-break study‑abroad trip to Spain during the May 2 board meeting, highlighting language immersion and cultural experiences for 32 students.

Alicia Moss, a Spanish teacher at Lower Moreland Middle School, said the trip was the district's first transatlantic program in decades and thanked the board for support. Student presenters recounted visits to La Sagrada Familia, a cooking class with paella and tapas, a flamenco performance, and museum and architecture tours. Students and staff described the trip as a strong community-builder that improved confidence and language skills.

The department noted chaperone teams and the study‑abroad committee organized the experience and asked for continued board support to run similar opportunities in future years.
