Pataskala council adopts supplemental-appropriations ordinance

Pataskala City Council voted to adopt Ordinance 2026-4519, a supplemental-appropriations ordinance to cover current expenses and other expenditures for the fiscal year ending Dec. 31, 2026. The ordinance was read on third reading, a council member moved to adopt the ordinance, it was seconded, and the clerk conducted a roll-call vote that recorded affirmative responses and the ordinance was declared passed.

The ordinance was read aloud by the clerk as "Ordinance 2026-4519," described in the meeting as a supplemental appropriation for the 2026 fiscal year. Council members moved and seconded the motion to adopt; the clerk called the roll and recorded yes votes, after which the mayor announced the ordinance passes. The meeting record shows the adoption occurred during the same agenda item following the consent agenda.

Earlier in the meeting the council approved the consent agenda, which the clerk confirmed passed on the roll call. The consent agenda included two contract authorizations noted by staff: one for the streets program (expected to start within about two weeks) and one for the Mill Street Bridge work; city staff indicated the bridge will be closed roughly 30 to 45 days while work proceeds.

The council offered no extended debate on the ordinance during the public meeting and recorded the formal vote. The meeting then moved to additional citizen comments and member remarks.
