Council considered three related resolutions that together consent to the expedited type 2 annexation of 6.753 acres from Oxford Township into the City of Oxford on petition by Ambassadors Pointe Community Church West Inc.
City Manager Douglas R. Elliott Jr. explained the annexation includes three parcels (4.4601 acres, 1.594 acres and 0.681 acres), is adjacent to the current city boundary and will enable the city to extend water and sanitary sewer service to support the church's plans to build a new facility. Elliott said he will serve as the statutory agent for the petitioner for the annexation process.
The three resolutions addressed (1) consent to annexation, (2) the statement of services the city will provide, and (3) zoning buffer requirements required under Ohio Revised Code section 709.023(c). The council asked for the address and plat information for future annexation items so members can inspect the site; there was no public comment in opposition. Each resolution was adopted by voice vote.
Because the annexation is an expedited type 2 process, Elliott noted that future building plans will go through the planning commission and any rezoning will be considered at that time.
