BART commission adopts revised town park rules on second reading, setting 5 a.m.–10 p.m. hours

The BART commission voted on April 28 to accept the second reading of revised town park rules and regulations, moving the document onward in the review process.

Members focused on several substantive changes: setting park hours at 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. rather than a variable 'sunset' time, clarifying that vehicles and trailers are not allowed after 10 p.m., and separating T‑shaped dock/boat parking rules into a distinct bullet with a two‑hour limit.

The chair described the edits and noted staff had highlighted changes from the prior draft; staff said the highlighted items reflect the group’s previous discussions and that board names and other editorial items had been updated. Commissioners debated the best placement of the hours provision in the rules (proposing to move section 1.11 earlier in the document so it appears before alcohol rules) and agreed to make the boat/dock restriction more prominent for clarity.

A staff member moved to accept the second reading and forward the rules for subsequent approvals; a commissioner seconded and the motion carried by voice vote.
