The Kenosha County Board of Health held a reorganizational session at the start of its May 5, 2026 meeting to elect officers and make appointments. S1 opened the reorganizational meeting and called for nominations.
A nomination for Kenny Harper as president was made from the floor, seconded and approved by voice vote. Julia Banks was nominated and seconded for vice president and likewise approved by voice vote. The board then voted to appoint Karen to serve as board secretary so staff paperwork would not be delayed.
S1 closed the reorganizational meeting after those appointments. The regular board meeting was then called to order by the newly seated president, quorum was confirmed and the board approved minutes for previous meetings by voice vote.
All officer selections and the secretary appointment were passed by voice vote during the reorganizational session; the meeting record did not include a roll-call tally of individual yes/no votes. The board then proceeded to regular business, including the health officer’s annual report and related presentations.
Next steps: the board will proceed with its regular agenda and administrative follow-up (staff to process paperwork for new officers and secretary appointments).
