Curtis Farrell, producer and director of McDonald's Gospel Fest, told BronxNet the long-running gospel event will stage three shows at the Palladium Times Square on Mother's Day weekend, featuring community choirs and headline performers.
Farrell traced the festival's roots to McDonald's owner-operators who wanted a community give-back and said the festival has become a global showcase: he noted last year's international choir and said the Clark Sisters and Jennifer Holliday are among the headliners.
The Palladium schedule calls for a Saturday matinee and evening show on May 9 and a large Mother's Day evening show on May 10. Farrell said tickets are available at Ticketmaster, the Palladium's website and box office, and provided a box-office phone number for more information.
Farrell emphasized the festival's community origins and said the event remains a platform for emerging talent as well as established stars. He encouraged families to attend and described the show as an occasion of celebration and unity.
For tickets and schedule details, Farrell urged listeners to check ticketmaster.com or palladiumtimessquare.com.
