The Fletcher Town Council heard two economic and community-development updates: staff announced a company that produces high-visibility LED lighting for emergency vehicles will move into the building at the end of Continuum Drive, and staff introduced a nonprofit mural proposal.
The town manager said the LED firm will occupy and expand into a building on Continuum Drive and that the council previously held an incentives hearing for the project. "So excited to have them coming to Fletcher," staff said, noting the building has historically been difficult to keep leased and that the new tenant is a good fit for the location.
Separately, staff described outreach from STEEP (a storytelling and arts-education nonprofit represented in the transcript by "Karen Eve Bain") about installing a mural in Fletcher. Staff said the group can use a painted mural or a vinyl wrap that looks similar, called attention to the need for property-owner permission, and said STEEP plans to apply for a grant through the Community Foundation of Henderson County and may present to the council at the June meeting.
Council and staff discussed likely locations (Highway 25 and the Feed and Seed were suggested for visibility) and said more details will follow if STEEP presents. These items were presented as informational updates; no formal council action was taken.
