Commission authorizes temporary vacation accrual exception for deputies, jailers and dispatchers; courthouse access remains restricted

By motion of Vice-Chairman Nick Stotz, seconded by Commissioner Keith Mushitz, the board approved an exception allowing all deputy sheriffs, jailers and dispatchers to accumulate more than the standard 200 hours of vacation, with a cap of 300 hours effective until March 31, 2021. The motion carried unanimously.

The board also confirmed that Charles Mix County courthouse doors will remain locked to the public; residents are encouraged to conduct business by mail or by appointment (call 605-487-6000). Visitors must pass a health screening and wear a mask before being allowed into the building.
