Treasurer Karen DeLap told the committee the Economic Development loan fund balance stands at $764,080.28 and that $614,080.28 has been transferred into an Altra Federal Credit Union account. DeLap said she will consult with Bobbi Johnson about whether $150,000 in county funds can be moved to that account and will report back at the next meeting. She also noted that Hillsboro Brewing and Nordic Lanes have repaid their loans.
Grants Coordinator Amy Oliver updated the committee on the Community Development Loan Program: nine of 15 awardees have signed grant agreements and three projects remain designated as alternates should additional funds become available. Oliver said she plans to apply for Ho-Chunk funding to continue the program in 2024.
Oliver said the county submitted a $2,000,000 grant application last month to construct a new emergency management storage facility; the county expects to learn whether it was selected by the end of August. She also outlined ongoing FEMA work: collaborating with municipalities on grants to install generators at critical facilities and preparing a FEMA reimbursement request for contracted services at Vernon Manor covering Jan. 1, 2023 through May 11, 2023 related to COVID.
