Ringgold County Board sets May 18 public hearing on FY26 budget amendment, asks attorney to draft data‑center moratorium language and OKs fireworks permit

The Ringgold County Board of Supervisors on May 4 voted unanimously to publish a proposed FY26 budget amendment and scheduled a public hearing for Monday, May 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the Board of Supervisors office, Auditor Amanda Waske reported. The board adopted Resolution RC26.80 by motion of Supervisor Steve Knapp, seconded by Supervisor Randy Taytor; the auditor attested the resolution.

Waske also presented samples of ordinances and moratoriums on data centers and said County Attorney Mike Wetts will draft a sample document for the board’s review and consideration.
