Board approves Cochise College agreements, FY2026 budget revision and Buena HOSA travel

The Sierra Vista Unified School District governing board approved multiple administrative items in a single meeting, including intergovernmental agreements with Cochise College, the district's FY2026 final expenditure budget revision, and out-of-state travel for Buena HOSA students.

Administration recommended and the board approved an intergovernmental agreement enabling SVUSD to provide bus transportation for Cochise College's commencement on 05/15/2026. The board also approved a concurrent-enrollment agreement and a dual-enrollment agreement with Cochise College to allow college-level courses to be offered for concurrent credit and to count toward both high school and college requirements during the school day.

The board authorized out-of-state travel for three students and two adults to attend the HOSA International Leadership Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana; administration said funding would come from CTE and student activity funds. The board approved the travel request unanimously.

Administrators also presented the district's second and final revision of the FY2026 expenditure budget, which the superintendent said was prepared to meet ARS 15-905 requirements and reflects updates for average daily membership and one-time legislative appropriations. The board approved submission of the final revision to the Arizona Department of Education.

Procedural notes and voting: routine consent items and each motion were moved and seconded during the meeting; most roll-call counts were recorded as unanimous approval (5-0), and the consent agenda passed 4-0 with one abstention recorded in the public record.

The approvals will allow administration to finalize logistics for commencement transportation and to implement concurrent and dual enrollment agreements for the coming year. The final budget revision will be submitted to the Arizona Department of Education, as required by statute.
