Board appoints Serena Onate to Clear Lake Blue Ribbon Committee, sets special meeting for May 15 interviews

The Lake County Board of Supervisors approved two administrative items: the appointment of Serena Onate to a county Blue Ribbon Committee focused on Clear Lake rehabilitation, and the addition of a special meeting on May 15 at 9 a.m. for candidate interviews.

The chair said the Farm Bureau’s prior appointee, Rebecca Harper, has moved on and the Farm Bureau suggested its assistant to replace her. A supervisor moved to appoint Serena Onate to the Blue Ribbon Committee; the motion was seconded and carried 4-0. Board members said Onate is from Lower Lake High School and is a Lake County resident.

On the calendar item, Administrative ACAO Mr. Carter explained HR had interviewed candidates and recommended scheduling special meeting dates to complete director and PHO interviews. Supervisors discussed availability across May 13–18 and agreed to schedule a May 15 meeting starting at 9 a.m. to allow several interviews within a six-hour window; the board then moved and voted to add May 15, 9 a.m., to the 2026 meeting calendar, 4-0.

The board handled both items in open session before adjourning to closed session for personnel and legal matters.
