Levy County commissioners ratified two extensions of the county's emergency declaration imposing a burn ban (Resolution 2026-10) and approved several Fire/EMS procurements during the meeting.
County Manager Marietta Harper presented the ratifications; the board moved and approved both extensions by voice vote.
Fire/EMS staff requested three procurement approvals: extrication equipment for $25,761.15 from Southern Rescue Tool as a noncompetitive procurement under the county code; a power-load system for $29,364.77 from Stryker as a noncompetitive procurement; and a 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe for $56,860 from Garber Chevrolet, quoted under the Florida Sheriffs Association contract (FSA 20 5VEL33) for the community-paramedics program. The chief and staff said the Tahoe purchase is grant funded and must be spent in the state fiscal year ending in June, which influenced the procurement timeline. Commissioners moved, seconded and approved each purchase by voice vote.
The board also approved expenditures totaling $4,890,170.18 by motion and voice vote.
No roll-call vote tallies were read into the record; each item passed by the board's stated voice vote.
