Levy County approves subcontract amendment with SWCA for Cedar Key Oyster Rocks restoration project

Carrie Bastow, county grants staff, asked the board to approve Subcontract Amendment #1 with SWCA Environmental Consultants Inc. for the Suwannee Sound/Cedar Key Oyster Rocks restoration project (RFP 2025002, contract ID 2025002). Bastow said staff had a meeting scheduled that afternoon with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to review a draft letter of agreement and that the next step is FDACS approval.

Commissioners thanked Bastow and staff for moving the project forward and asked to display project posters in the county hall to inform visitors. Bastow said staff had resolved most questions and that the project was “in the home” with FWC and FDACS steps remaining. The board moved, seconded and approved the subcontract amendment by voice vote.

Bastow and staff will continue coordination with state agencies and return with any documents requiring further board action.
