Resident raises concerns about pink-flagged stakes on 10th Avenue South right-of-way

During the public-input portion of the meeting a resident asked the council about pink flags placed along the right-of-way on 10th Avenue South and whether they indicate a planned road extension.

The resident said stakes with pink flags appear ‘‘the length of 10th Avenue’’ near the park and asked if any road extension was planned. A staff member responded that the city currently has no roadways, water, or sewer projects planned for that right-of-way and said staff would look into the matter and report back to the resident.

A different person suggested the flags might be related to cable or broadband work; staff said if another utility is involved it would not be the city’s water or sewer function. Council directed staff to check and follow up.
