The Chickasaw County Board of Supervisors approved a $2,000 claim to Intercog for Cedar Valley regional marketing dues and heard a presentation on an upcoming Cedar Valley job board and a regional wage‑and‑benefit survey.
Jamie, the county economic development representative, described the region's wage survey products (which can be broken out by industry) and showed a preview of a job board that will let employers list openings for free and will aggregate listings from larger job sites for communities across the region. "You can pick out Fredericksburg, Nashua, New Hampton... all of the communities in Chickasaw County will be on this job board," Jamie said.
The board moved to approve the Intercog dues claim from the general‑services administration line; the motion carried. Jamie said the regional dues are typically $2,000 and noted the group has adjusted timing for dues payments in past years.
Why it matters: the job board and regional wage survey are intended to help local employers and workers find and evaluate opportunities; the county's payment keeps the local participation in the regional marketing effort current.
Next steps: staff will process the approved claim and Jamie will provide the county with digital materials for distribution.
