Mister Perry presented the Westmoreland Intermediate Unit operating budget, which totals $6,300,000; Franklin Regional's share will be $22,610.93, a decrease of approximately $4,800 from the prior year. The board conducted a roll call vote and the Westmoreland IU budget carried 9–0.
Perry also presented Northern Westmoreland Career & Technology Center’s operating budget and said Franklin Regional’s share will be $239,822, an increase of $31,638 driven by enrollment growth (CTC expects about 590 students next year). The board approved that budget by roll call vote.
On district finances, Perry reported a $1,000 gift from the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh earmarked for "remake learning days," general fund transfers totaling $7,522.24, and recommended a $1,000,000 transfer from the general fund to the capital reserve plus a $500,000 commitment of unassigned general fund balance for debt-service stabilization to help fund long-term infrastructure needs within the constraints of Act 1. The board approved the recommended transfers as part of consent/finance actions taken that evening.
