Mister Schreckengost presented the CCIU PIMS contract (state reporting) and answered questions about scope and cost; he explained the contractor maintains and uploads multiple PIMS submissions year-round, identifies and corrects errors, and works with the state. A board member noted the district pays roughly $30,000 a year for the service; Business Office staff and a board member described the requirement as an "unfunded mandate." Doctor Perano added that PIMS coordination touches multiple departments.
Schreckengost also proposed purchasing hard snap Chromebook cases (rather than cloth/Velcro slip-ons) to reduce screen damage; cases will be applied to Chromebooks distributed across three grade levels, primarily at middle school. He noted there is no guarantee on extended device life but colleagues reported fewer damages with similar cases. Teacher and admin laptops were noted to follow a 3–4 year refresh cycle and will not receive cases.
Mister Kessler recommended a new five-year sports medicine contract with Allegheny Health Network to continue a near-30-year relationship; the board heard the recommendation without substantive opposition. Doctor Smith presented three AIU contracts (waterfront learning, K–5 spring math online resource year 4, and ESL administrative support) and Mister Perry reported a $1,000 gift from the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh.
Doctor Perano also explained the district’s PSBA "all access" package which now wraps Keystone Agenda migration and includes a $2,000 cost, replacing a prior BoardDocs arrangement.
