The Vernon County Finance Committee met May 21, 2020 and reviewed the treasurer's monthly report before approving several routine actions.
Treasurer Rachel Hanson presented cash and receipts figures showing a county balance of $17,801,475.47 and total receipts of $2,837,381.11, with detailed line items for taxes collected, interest, and sales‑tax receipts. Hanson also provided Pool #3 totals and a statement of cash flow through April 30, 2020.
Chairman Rod Ofte said the committee must use or reallocate Ho‑Chunk funds to the New Building Fund by July 1, 2020; the committee recorded the action as carried unanimously. The committee also approved a resolution designating the county's official financial institutions on a motion by Mike Leis, seconded by Roger Call; the resolution passed on a unanimous voice vote.
Members approved routine vouchers after a review of the monthly bills, and set the next Finance Committee meeting for June 18, 2020. The meeting adjourned at 12:13 p.m.
The committee's actions were procedural and included directing staff to carry out the reallocation and to report back on capital‑funding details as requested.
