The Cloud County Board of Commissioners voted on routine administrative measures during its April 27, 2026 regular meeting.
The board approved payroll expenses totaling $182,541.99; the clerk provided a fund‑level breakdown including General Fund $93,376.29, Road & Bridge $46,623.48, County Health $21,242.51 and other funds. Sales tax receipts reported for April 24, 2026 totaled $79,331.58 compared with $76,504.30 the previous year.
On a motion by Commissioner Ron Copple, seconded by Commissioner Dannie Kearn and approved unanimously, the board approved property tax abatements 2026‑117 and 2026‑118 with a net tax change of ($740.94) and a refund of $631.50. The meeting minutes record the vote as unanimous (Commissioners Michael Cleveland, Dannie Kearn and Ron Copple voting yes).
On a motion by Commissioner Dannie Kearn, seconded by Commissioner Ron Copple and approved unanimously, the board approved the April 20, 2026 minutes as presented.
The board also recorded a congratulation to CASA advocate Jennifer Kindel for receiving the Outstanding Community‑Based Victim Advocate Award from the Kansas Attorney General’s Office and received vehicle titles from Treasurer JoDee LeDuc for signature. On a motion by Commissioner Ron Copple, seconded by Commissioner Dannie Kearn and approved unanimously, the board adjourned at 11:30 a.m. and recessed until May 4, 2026.
