Board of Review postpones item, approves minutes and schedules Sept. 30 session amid revaluation

The Board of Review on Monday, May 4, decided to postpone consideration of agenda item 3, approved the minutes of its May 5, 2025 meeting, and set its next session for 4:00 p.m. on Sept. 30, 2026, citing an ongoing revaluation and an incomplete assessment roll.

The Chair opened the meeting at 4:00 p.m., confirmed a quorum and noted that because the board’s makeup will change in 2026, item 3 would not be acted on at this meeting. A committee member initially moved to table item 3, but a staff member advised that it was preferable to postpone and take no action rather than table the item; the member withdrew the motion and the Chair directed that item 3 be postponed until the next meeting.

The board then turned to item 4, the minutes from the May 5, 2025 meeting. A committee member moved approval of the minutes "as presented," the Chair seconded, and the motion carried on a voice vote.

Under item 5, the Chair said the proposed adjournment date aligns with the scheduled revaluation timeline because the assessment roll is not yet complete. A staff member told the board that "what we will ask everybody ... is to redo the training" for anyone serving on the board at that time so members are up to date on changes. An agency official reported: "Everything is on track. The field work is completed," and said model building and review work will begin next, with open-book notices to follow on schedule.

Following that briefing, a motion and second were made to adjourn the board until 4:00 p.m. on Sept. 30, 2026; the Chair called for a voice vote and the motion carried. The board then completed a final motion to adjourn the evening’s meeting; that motion also carried by voice vote.

The Board of Review will reconvene at 4:00 p.m. on Sept. 30, 2026. No formal action was recorded on agenda item 3 at this meeting.
