Monisha Harrell was confirmed unanimously as Lynnwood’s assistant city administrator during a special Lynnwood City Council meeting on May 4, 2026.
The council moved to confirm Harrell; the motion was seconded and, after a roll-call vote in which all members present voted in favor, Mayor Hurst announced that the motion "has passed unanimously." The clerk called Mayor Hurst; Council President Coelho; Council Vice President Escamilla; and Council Members Lutweiler, Romano, Owings, Hartshal and Wright during the roll call and confirmed a quorum for the action.
Harrell, who was the nominee named on the record, accepted the appointment and addressed the council. "I am so grateful for this opportunity to be able to do the work here in Lynnwood," she said, adding that she and the council "share a common value system for equity and diversity" and are committed to ensuring residents "can live, work, and play in this area." She said she was "very, very grateful" for the opportunity and looked forward to beginning the work.
The council took the confirmation vote and immediately recessed for a 15-minute break; the mayor said the meeting would reconvene at the scheduled start time. No amendments, conditions or alternate motions were recorded on the confirmation; the name of the council member who moved the motion was not given on the record.
