The Oklahoma County Citizens Advisory Board moved to add Jim Bridal to the Citizens Advisory Board during its meeting, with the chair noting the appointment is subject to final approval by the jail trust.
Jim Bridal, who spoke to the board at the meeting, said he has been in the insurance business for 47 years and described years of community involvement, including participation in a local Committee of 100 and the FBI Citizens Academy. "I'm delighted to be here and eager to become a part of this group," Bridal said during his introduction.
The chair asked whether the board needed formal approval from the jail trust to complete the appointment. Members acknowledged uncertainty about the trust's procedural requirement; one board member said he had not researched whether jail-trust approval was necessary. The motion on the record specified that final approval by the jail trust would be required.
Jamie Durant moved for the appointment; a second was requested on the record and members were asked to indicate their approval electronically. The motion carried by voice indication; no roll-call tally was given.
The appointment follows a period in which the board vetted Bridal's experience and asked questions about the scope of the appointment. Bridal described prior volunteer work and involvement in programs supporting first responders and other county activities.
Next steps: the board recorded the motion and will coordinate any required follow-up with the jail trust to complete the appointment process.
