Chesterfield County Council took several administrative actions April 6, approving staff recommendations on surplus property and ambulance services and directing procurement for a detention‑center study.
Finance Director Heather Felts asked that a 2025 Ford F150 (Serial #1FTEX1LP3SKD25944) be declared surplus so it could be removed from inventory; Council voted unanimously to declare the vehicle surplus. Felts also reported staff had reviewed an Ambulance Service Franchise Renewal application from Heartline Transport Services, LLC, found the application to be in order, and recommended approval; Council approved the franchise renewal unanimously.
County Administrator Michelle Stanley presented a proposal from Alliance Consulting Engineers for a bed projection study for a prospective Chesterfield County Detention Center and Council directed staff to bid out the study; the motion to solicit bids was seconded and carried unanimously. The meeting minutes record the direction to bid but do not record a vendor, contract amount, or schedule for completion.
Other administrative actions recorded include the reappointment of Billy Hogge to the Pee Dee Workforce Development Board and a reminder from the administrator about an Employee Appreciation Luncheon on April 8, 2026.
