Streets committee approves ordinance to vacate portions of Water, River and Hill streets and alleys

The Streets Committee approved Ordinance 26‑17 to vacate portions of Water, River and Hill streets and two 16‑foot‑wide alleys shown on an historic plat by James L. Burkey.

A staff presenter described the request as coming from the property owner who purchased the intermingled parcels and asked the committee to vacate the undeveloped segments. Staff said they had not received concerns from police or fire about the vacation. "I've not gotten any concerns from anybody about this," the presenter said.
