Little Falls awards $93,786 contract for Lift Station 3 panel and pump work

The Little Falls City Council voted to award a $93,786 contract to Total Control Systems to replace the control panel and pumps at Lift Station No. 3, city staff said. Public Works presenter Greg told the council the station—originally installed in 1962 and upgraded in 1995—was budgeted for rehabilitation in 2026 and that the city set aside $125,000 for the work.

Greg said the city obtained two quotes: Total Control Systems at $93,786 and Quality Flow at $90,987, and recommended Total Control Systems because the firm has performed work on the city’s other 18 lift stations. “It makes sense to have consistent equipment and machines at those various lift stations so we understand what each one is doing,” Greg said. He added that the station had experienced a recent control-panel failure, making the timing of the replacement “almost perfect.”

Council moved to award the contract and the motion carried by voice vote. The work will be charged to the wastewater capital improvement fund, city staff said. The council did not discuss a construction schedule in detail at the meeting; staff will proceed with contract execution and project scheduling under the capital fund appropriation.
