Little Falls schedules public hearing on proposed TIF expansion for Barrett Land LLC

The Little Falls City Council adopted a resolution calling a public hearing to consider modifying the city’s Tax Increment Financing District and creating a proposed TIF District 1‑48 to support an expansion at Barrett Pet Foods, staff said.

City staff member Alex told the council the action calls for public review of a development program and the proposed establishment of TIF District 1‑48 tied to Barrett Land LLC. "This is for the expansion at Barrett Pet Foods," Alex said, summarizing the work-session discussion and the elements the public hearing will address.

Councilmember Hanson moved to adopt the resolution calling the public hearing; the motion was seconded and a roll call showed unanimous support. The resolution sets the process for public comment and further review; staff will publish hearing details and the development plan ahead of the scheduled hearing.
