Boone County commissioners approve routine consent items, contracts and consultant selection

Boone County commissioners approved a slate of routine agenda items, interlocal agreements, construction quotes and consultant selection during their regular meeting.

Key approvals included:

- A consent agenda and approval of minutes from April 20, 2026 (voice votes).
- Authorization for an Ingledow Promotions quote to decorate the courthouse for the county’s bicentennial celebration, with total cost not to exceed $30,000 and $20,000 in local grants from Discover Boom and the city of Lebanon.
- An interlocal agreement with the City of Lebanon for road projects (microsurfacing, countywide striping and surface rejuvenation), with Lebanon’s portion listed at approximately $255,523.56.
- Acceptance of the low bid from Baumgartner to install an adhesive membrane and 3 inches of hot-mix asphalt on three beam bridges, total $81,581, funded from 2026 bridge preservation funds.
- Approval of a reimbursable right-of-way permit for a TDS fiber installation in Jackson Township with a not-to-exceed amount of $25,500.
- Approval of a Burke proposal to investigate Lebanon wastewater treatment plant expansion impacts for a not-to-exceed $14,900, to be reimbursed by utilities.
- Selection of CLA for internal controls audit consulting from a field of proposers and interviewees, contingent on funding availability.
- Approval of claims and adjournment.

During public comment, Peggy Nagy of the Boone County Historical Society thanked the commissioners for permitting the bicentennial float display in the courthouse and noted strong public interest on social media. “We really had... over 22,000 hits on it now,” Nagy said. Commissioners noted the July 6 meeting will move from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
