On April 27 the Arizona Senate approved a motion to suspend part of Senate Rule 7(b)(5) so the Committee on Appropriations, Transportation and Technology may hear a bundle of Senate bills on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.
The majority leader moved to suspend the requirement that committee agendas be distributed five days before a meeting and the unanimous-consent provision for adding bills to agendas "for the purpose of allowing the Committee of Appropriations, Transportation Technology, to hear Senate bills 18 31, 18 32, 18 33, 18 34, 18 35, 18 36, 18 37, 18 38, 18 39, 18 40, 18 41, 18 42, 18 43, 18 44, 18 45, and 18 46 on Tuesday, 04/28/2026." The presiding officer put the motion to a voice vote and declared the ayes prevailed.
The clerk read a set of first-reading references for those bills that the transcript lists primarily by bill number and subject headings (general appropriations, commerce, criminal justice, environment, higher education, human services, K–12 education, local government, state properties, revenue/taxation, transportation). The clerk placed the bills under second reading for the record.
A committee announcement followed that the Senate Appropriations, Transportation and Technology committee and the House Appropriations committee will meet tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. in House Hearing Room 1. Separately, the presiding officer announced an appointment from the president: Senator QB will temporarily replace Senator Gonzales on the Committee on Health and Human Services for April 27, 2026.
The Senate adjourned until Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 1:15 p.m.
