Jim Rounds of Rounds Consulting presented an economic-impact analysis the firm prepared for Envita Health, saying the health campus and related facilities generate broad economic activity in Yuma County. Rounds said the analysis showed roughly $1,500,000,000 in economic output over the period analyzed, stated an average annual jobs equivalent of about 3,500 (8,800 total job-years in the model) and approximate state and local tax revenue impacts he described as about $41,600,000. He recommended the Board read the executive summary of the full report when it's available.
Dr. Robert Trenchall, President and CEO of Envita Health, outlined near-term projects and partnerships: an affiliation with the University of Arizona to establish a rural regional medical branch with the first students arriving July 2026; a planned San Luis Health Campus described as a 24-bed full-service hospital with an emergency department slated to open spring 2027; a VA clinic to be built by Envita and leased to the VA; and a Health Career Center in partnership with Arizona Western College to train nurses and allied health workers. Trenchall said Envita has contributed more than $6,000,000 in community support and framed the investments as both community benefits and workforce development.
Board members thanked presenters and noted the projects could help retain health professionals locally and support business recruitment. No formal county financial commitments or votes on incentives were recorded during this presentation; the segment served as information for the Board and public.
