District opens comment period on draft code of conduct; art show and Teacher Appreciation Week noted

The Presenter announced that the public comment period for the draft code of conduct for the 2026–2027 school year is open through Friday, May 22 and urged stakeholders to review the updates and submit feedback.

The Presenter said comments and feedback can be sent via the district contact address (contact@williamsvillek12.org) and encouraged community members to review the revisions on the district website. The Presenter did not provide details of specific code changes during the update; stakeholders were directed to posted materials for full text.

The update also recognized two alumni whose work will be featured in a permanent art installation at the new stadium: Williamsville South alum Alexa Zapia and Williamsville East alum Michael Biondo, selected from 433 applicants. Presenter noted Alexa recently visited students at Williamsville South to work on her project.

The annual district art show is open to the community at the Shirley Chisholm Audubon Library, showcasing paintings, pastels, optical illusions and sculptures. Finally, the Presenter marked the start of Teacher Appreciation Week and thanked teachers for their dedication to students.
