Enumclaw’s City Council on April 27 voted to approve two formal actions affecting public infrastructure and parks funding.
Sewer assessment reimbursement (Resolution 1872): The council approved a resolution establishing an assessment reimbursement area for sewer installed as part of the Roosevelt Avenue roundabout project. Staff reported the work would allow gravity sewer to serve nearby properties and that the construction and soil issues increased the recoverable cost to just under $88,000 to be recaptured from four parcels. The council moved, seconded and approved the resolution; the mayor announced the motion passed with no opposition voiced.
Parks lighting grant (Resolution 1874): The council approved a resolution authorizing the mayor to submit a grant application to the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office for the youth athletic facilities grant to light fields at Boise Creek and other sites. Parks Director Aliyah Hibbs said the application requests $400,000; the grant program requires a 50% match and staff said $202,000 in impact fees are available now and the city would budget the remaining roughly $198,000 in the 2027 budget. Council moved, seconded and approved Resolution 1874.
Procedural note: Both resolutions were read by City Clerk Katie McKee and each passed following motions and vocal assent; the record shows no members spoke in opposition during the roll-call call for ayes and no formal roll‑call tallies were recorded in the meeting transcript.
