The Charles Mix County Board of Commissioners reviewed bids for interior renovation, window replacement and tuckpointing of the courthouse. On June 23, 1972 the board opened bids for interior renovation and window replacement and accepted a low bid for tuckpointing submitted by Vernon Bascom Co.; architects from Fritzel, Kroeger, Griffin & Berg were asked to make further study of the bids and advise the county.
Minutes record the board later accepting a tuckpointing contract from Vernon Bascom Co. and instructing architects to proceed with studies and contract administration. The board also discussed other courthouse restoration steps, including specifications for window replacement and interior renovation; the board instructed staff to proceed with advertising, bonding and contractor selection as required.
Separately, the board also handled related capital maintenance procurement in the same period, including sale of condemned county property, and recorded contractor bonds and payment arrangements when awarding contracts.
