Maple Valley opens public hearing on park impact fees; hearing left open to March 10

The Maple Valley City Council opened a public hearing on park impact fees at 6:58 p.m. on Feb. 24. No members of the public spoke during the hearing, and the council voted to keep the hearing record open for additional testimony and to continue consideration of the matter at its March 10 regular meeting.

The hearing was announced during the public hearing portion of the agenda; city staff did not record any public testimony at the Feb. 24 session. The council did not take action to adopt or amend park impact fees at the Feb. 24 meeting. Further notice will be provided for the March 10 meeting, when the council will resume consideration of the hearing record.

What to expect next
The council left the public hearing open to allow additional public comment and staff follow-up; no date for final adoption was set during the Feb. 24 meeting aside from the continuation on March 10, 2025.
