City manager reports $1.5 million Ecology grant, parks projects and staff presentations

During the Feb. 24 meeting, the City Manager reported that the city had received a $1.5 million grant from the Department of Ecology for the S-17 project. The manager also highlighted that SWM/NPDES Program Manager Halley Kimball received the APWA Jennings Randolph International Fellowship.

Other operational updates included a police bulletin that an attempted ATM theft suspect is in custody and that registration for the Community Police Academy closes this week; Recreation Coordinator Bobby Quick noted that photos were published in the National Recreation and Parks Association Youth Sports Framework. Staff also reported that the Take a Break Park playground replacement project begins this week; Lake Wilderness Lodge is scheduled for a power outage Friday and Saturday and a generator shipment is expected this week; the Parks Maintenance Building is nearing completion.

Community Resource Coordinator Greta Huntley provided a presentation on Care Solace to council members, and Finance Director Aaron Antin along with Senior Budget Analyst Sierra Southworth demonstrated the city’s digital budget document on the website.
