Granite Falls staff present draft 2024 budget and fund estimates

Deputy City Manager Jeff Balentine presented the council with the city’s draft 2024 budget materials on Oct. 4, reviewing fund-level slides showing estimated revenues, expenses and reserves for the General, Street, Water, Sewer and Storm funds, along with capital improvement fund (CIF) line items.

Balentine’s presentation included a tax-dollar breakdown and department-level expense categories; the materials were introduced as draft estimates and staff emphasized that numbers will be refined as part of the formal budget process. The council did not take formal budget action during the meeting.

The draft materials also listed reserves and CIF allocations for street, water and sewer projects. Staff indicated they will return with finalized figures as budget preparation continues through public hearings and future council meetings.
