Altoona council approves consent agenda covering pay apps, easements and liquor licenses

The Altoona City Council approved a multi‑item consent agenda at its April 20 meeting that included approval of bills and several construction pay applications: Pay App #11 to DCI Group Inc. for the Altoona Fire Station ($470,850.12); Pay App #3 to Story Construction Co. for Water System Improvements 2024 ($27,000.00); Pay App #7 to Sternquist Construction for 9th Street NE Reconstruction Project‑Phase 2B ($74,563.34); Pay App #7 to OPUS for Sam Wise Youth Complex ($111,036.50); and Pay App #1 to Price Electric for Altoona Phase 2 Fiber Development ($50,801.06).

The consent agenda also included resolutions accepting public improvements (Reilly Construction Co.), acceptance of multiple warranty deeds and permanent easements for Marco Properties LLC and I‑80 Business Park II, LLC; setting public hearings on an electrical easement to Mid‑American Energy and on a FY2026 budget amendment; approval of a National Night Out event request for Aug. 4, 2026 at Sam Wise Youth Complex; and approval of three retail liquor licenses (Johnny's Italian Steakhouse — Class C; Casey's #1938 — Class E; Casey's #6 — Class E). The consent agenda passed on a roll‑call vote of members present (4-0).

Department heads then provided their regular updates before the council adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
