The Piedmont City Council on May 21 approved the minutes, authorized payment of bills totaling $428,922.49 and carried two abatement resolutions, the council said in its meeting minutes.
Terry Kiser moved to approve the minutes and David Ivey seconded; the motion carried. Councilmember Richard Williams moved to approve payment of bills totaling $428,922.49; Jubal Feazell seconded and the council approved the payments.
The council approved Resolution 2024-06 on a motion by Richard Williams, seconded by Terry Kiser, and approved Resolution 2024-07 on a motion by Richard Williams, seconded by David Ivey. Both motions were recorded as carried in the minutes.
Councilmember Terry Kiser moved to reappoint Councilmember Greg South as the voting delegate to the AMEA; Richard Williams seconded the motion and it carried.
Other routine items approved included a motion to authorize repair work on a city bucket truck (see related coverage of equipment actions in this meeting). The mayor also read a proclamation recognizing a local nursing home, as noted in the minutes.
