Finance committee adopts A7 and A8 amendments, advances omnibus judicial supplemental with gun-violence provisions

The Minnesota Senate Finance Committee on April 29 adopted two amendments and advanced Senate File 4067, an omnibus judicial supplemental appropriations bill that will carry a gun-violence prevention package discussed the previous day. Chair opened the bill, explained the committee’s process and asked Miss Stengel to walk members through the planned actions.

Miss Stengel told the committee A7 is the DE amendment incorporating language adopted previously; Senator Mohammed moved the amendment and the committee adopted A7 by voice. Mister Turner then summarized the A8 amendment as a fiscal update: it removed the Department of Corrections provision from the spreadsheet and increased the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension administration cost for the certificate-of-ownership provision to $484,000 with $165,000 in ongoing tails to reflect a revised fiscal note. The committee adopted A8 by voice vote.

After brief member questions and comments, the committee passed Senate File 4067 as amended and the chair said the bill was sent on to the floor. The committee recorded no roll-call vote for the final passage in the transcript; the chair thanked staff and members for their work.
