Commissioners approve three-year courthouse lease with 7 Beans LLC

Hidalgo County Commissioners Court voted to award a three-year lease for services at the Hidalgo County Courthouse to 7 Beans LLC and authorized the county to execute the agreement.

Hector Garcia, presenting on behalf of Ignacio Mesca, asked the court to "award the lease agreement for the lease of space for quote services at Hidalgo County Courthouse to the highest ranked responsible respondent, 7 Beans LLC." Garcia said the lease would commence for three years with possible extensions and included termination language that allows the county to provide a 30-day notice after certain measures are taken.

County Judge Richard Cortes asked about the length of the lease and the conditions for termination; Garcia confirmed the three-year term and described the termination provision that requires prior measures before a 30-day notice can be issued. After a motion and a second, the court voted "aye" and the motion carried.

The judge directed county staff to proceed with implementing the court's action.

The court took the vote during its open session and no separate public-comment record on the lease was reported. The meeting then moved on to other agenda items.
