Lindenhurst board annexes 4.33-acre parcel and approves car-wash development at U.S. Route 45

Mayor Dominic Marturano called the Village of Lindenhurst Board to order on March 13, 2023. On motions from trustees, the board unanimously approved an annexation agreement and then annexed approximately 4.33 acres at 35980 U.S. Route 45 and approved the development plan for a car wash on that parcel.

The board adopted Ordinance 23-2-2249 approving an annexation agreement with Chicago Title Land Trust Company and White City Holdings, LLC. Trustee Ron Grace moved the ordinance and Trustee Patty Chybowski seconded; the roll call vote was Aye — Trustees Pat Dickson, Patty Chybowski, Dawn Suchy, Heath Rosten and Ron Grace; Nay — 0.

Following adoption of the agreement, the board adopted Ordinance 23-2-2250 annexing approximately 4.33 acres commonly known as 35980 U.S. Route 45 into the Village. Trustee Pat Dickson moved the annexation ordinance, seconded by Trustee Dawn Suchy; the roll call was unanimous in favor. The record notes the parcel is undeveloped, lies in unincorporated Lake County, shares a contiguous boundary with Lindenhurst, and was annexed in part because Lindenhurst is nearest to water and sewer connections needed for development.

The board then adopted Ordinance 23-2-2251, which approves rezoning, a special use permit, a preliminary plat of subdivision, requested variations, and site, landscaping and architectural plans to permit construction of a car wash at the same address. Trustee Patty Chybowski moved the ordinance and Trustee Dawn Suchy seconded; the motion carried on a unanimous roll call vote.
