The Oregon School District Board on May 13 approved the Pupil Non-Discrimination Self-Evaluation Report, canceled its May 27 meeting and deferred a CESA 2 contract to July 8 during a series of roll-call votes.
Ms. Heather Garrison moved and Dr. Mary Lokuta seconded the motion to approve the Pupil Non-Discrimination Self-Evaluation Report as presented by district administrators, including Dr. Bergstrom, Ms. Jonen, Mr. Tanner, Ms. Jarstad, Dr. Anderson and Dr. Weidensee. Board members asked questions during discussion and the motion passed in a 6-0 roll-call vote.
The board also voted 6-0 to cancel the May 27, 2024 board meeting following a motion from Dr. Lokuta and a second from Ms. Wright. Separately, the agenda item related to a CESA 2 contract was moved to the July 8 meeting and therefore was not acted on at this session.
Late in the meeting the board voted 6-0 to enter closed session under Wisconsin Statutes §19.85(1)(e) and §19.85(1)(c) to discuss a potential offer regarding district property near Werth Woods in Fitchburg, negotiations with the Oregon Education Association on the 2024–25 collective bargaining agreement, and the district administrator’s performance evaluation. The minutes record no substantive update on the Werth Woods offer.
