At its May 15 meeting the Dodge County Board of Supervisors approved several routine but consequential administrative items, including claims, contract authorization, and procurement steps.
The Board unanimously approved wage and hour claims totaling $287,576.47 and financial claims totaling $471,221.13 (combined claims noted in these minutes total $758,797.60). The minutes record Supervisor Backens asking whether an invoice for address signs represented new purchases; Highway Superintendent Scott Huppert said the $18 signs are additional items to complete lake projects.
The Board authorized the Highway Superintendent to study a request by Taylor Farms to vacate a street in Ames (described as east of Block 1 and 2 in the SE ¼ Section 9, Township 17 N, R7E). The study letter and a resolution to set a public hearing on the street vacation will be presented at the May 29, 2024 meeting. The Board also authorized advertising for road gravel bids for fiscal year 2024–2025 with bids to be opened May 31, 2024 at 11:15 A.M.
The Board approved a 2024 Master Professional Services Agreement with Speece Lewis (a Bowman company following a merger) and authorized Chairman Missel to sign it for the remainder of 2024. No bid results, contract dollar totals, or further procurement details were recorded in the May 15 minutes; those items will appear in future agenda records if reported.
