Cloverleaf Critters asks to return to Dunn County Fair with expanded petting-zoo lineup

Annette, who said she owns Cloverleaf Critters mobile petting zoo, asked the board to allow the petting zoo to return this year and described the animals and logistics she would provide.

Annette said the business brings interactive animals (guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens, bantam ducks, goats, sheep, a mini horse and tabletop animals such as crested geckos and a baby African bullfrog) and that handlers ensure animals are managed for children’s interactions. "We have a bearded dragon…we have bantam ducks…we bring a variety so they see different types of chickens," Annette said, listing species and confirming her experience with fairs.

She also recounted last year’s poultry testing challenges and said she will retest turkeys in May so they would be cleared for July events. Annette said she had offered a reduced rate last year (about $100/hour discounted from her typical price) and suggested a similar community-friendly fee this season (she estimated around $2,600–$2,700 when describing what she was considering).

Board response and next steps: Board members thanked Annette and asked staff to follow up on contract terms and placement (tent size ~10x30). The board did not vote on the contract at the meeting; staff will contact Annette with the board’s decision and clarify rental or discount arrangements.
