Oneida County Executive Committee elects Dan Hess as vice-chair, hears recruiting, finance and IT updates

The Oneida County Executive Committee opened its April 22 meeting in the County Board Room and approved the agenda. Chairman Billy Fried called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. and introduced committee duties.

The committee unanimously elected Supervisor Dan Hess as Vice‑Chair after nominations were opened by Chairman Fried and a motion from Supervisor Scott Holewinski, seconded by Supervisor Ted Cushing.

Departments delivered routine monthly reports. Lueneburg (LRES) said recruiting is active and that the county is hiring for two department head positions, including Finance Director and Planning and Zoning Director. Finance Director Tina Smigielski walked new board members through packet materials, described the monthly Budget‑to‑Actual and Invoices‑Paid reports each department must file, and presented a sales tax report noting sales tax as a significant county revenue source. IT Director Jason Rhodes said the Sheriff’s Office phone system is scheduled to be installed April 28 and that the hearing room audiovisual system was installed under budget.

The committee set its next meetings for May 6 and May 20 at 8:30 a.m. and adjourned at 10:05 a.m.
