Beaver Area SD board approves BAACS lease and support agreements totaling more than $93,000

The Beaver Area School District Board of Directors on July 22 approved multiple agreements with the Beaver Area Academic Charter School (BAACS) for the 2013'14 school year, including a lease, an instructional support fee and a business support payment.

The lease authorizes BAACS to occupy two classrooms in the Annex at the Middle-High School, a classroom at College Square and a classroom within the Middle-High School for an annual cost of $22,000. The instructional support agreement requires BAACS to pay $800 per instructional period per year. Separately, the board approved a business support agreement under which BAACS will pay $71,419.68 for support services for 2013'14.

Each motion was moved and seconded (as recorded in the minutes) and approved unanimously. The agreements are recorded in the meeting enclosures for reference; the minutes do not list further payment schedules or implementation timelines.

The board also ratified routine business including invoices and financial reports earlier in the meeting.
