Fort Mill council approves several board and committee appointments

The Fort Mill Town Council confirmed a slate of appointments and reappointments to town boards and committees, including the Board of Zoning Appeals, Historic Review Board, Keep Fort Mill Beautiful Committee, Planning Commission and the Stormwater Advisory Committee.

Council recommended and voted to appoint Sarah Shirley and reappoint Patrick Williams to the Board of Zoning Appeals; reappoint Joanne Walker and appoint Charles Wright to the Historic Review Board; approve Dennis Miguelho and Charles Hammond for the Keep Fort Mill Beautiful Committee; and approve Dawn Williams Zablicki (new) and Sarah Curtis (reappointment) for the Planning Commission.

For the Stormwater Advisory Committee, council approved reappointments for Andre Lennon, Mark Myrick and Greg Brobst and appointed Thomas Joseph to the remaining two‑year term in a vacated seat. Council members thanked volunteers and stressed efforts to balance committee membership geographically and by experience.

Council approved each set of appointments by voice vote. Staff said many appointees are volunteers and that boards have varying meeting schedules and continuing‑education requirements, depending on the board.

Next steps: Staff will process appointment paperwork and publish membership information on the town website.
