Visit York County highlights visitor data, Brew and Coffee Trails for Fort Mill tourism push

Andy Clinton, representing Visit York County, updated the Fort Mill Town Council on tourism marketing and new visitor tools the organization is using to drive visits to Downtown Fort Mill and county attractions.

Clinton said the organization's destination guide distribution has grown (roughly 38,000 copies in circulation previously) and that an activity book and other collateral were popular. He described a new digital kiosk in Downtown Fort Mill that logged 230 sessions in April with an average session length of about four minutes while still in soft launch. He also described mobile 'passport' initiatives for Brew and Coffee Trails: the coffee trail recorded more than 1,000 QR downloads in its first 90 days, and the Brew Trail will receive a Rev War theme and a planned July 4 launch.

Clinton said Visit York County is using mobile location data to attribute visits: 'the 26,000 people that visited our website then made it into the county to spend money,' he said, noting the organization purchased software to estimate direct spend. He discussed partnerships with the Greenway, museums and local breweries and described efforts to place the area in national and regional media through PR software and influencers.

Council praised the materials and staff work. The presentation concluded with the mayor and council thanking Clinton and Visit York County staff.

Next steps: Visit York County will continue promoting Fort Mill events (including the Strawberry Festival) and refine digital and PR campaigns.
